Orange Scented Hot Chocolate

Ingredients

  • 2 cups milk
    4 oz chocolate
    3 2-inch strips oranges peel
    1/2 tsp espresso
    1/8 tsp ground nutmeg


 
Preparation
 1. Combine milk, chocolate (chopped bittersweet or semi-sweet ), orange peel, espresso (instant coffee), and nutmeg in a heavy medium saucepan. Stir over low heat until chocolate melts, increase heat and bring just to a boil, stirring often. Remove from heat and whisk until frothy.

2. Return to heat and bring to boil again. Remove from heat, whisk until frothy. Repeat heating and whisking once again.

3. Discard orange peel. (Can be prepared 2 hours ahead. Let stand at room temperature. Before serving, bring just to boil, remove from heat and whisk until frothy.) Pour hot chocolate into coffee mugs. Makes 2 servings.

Layer ingredients, in above order, into a tall glass half filled with ice cubes. Add a maraschino cherry, and serve.

Orange Squash
Pour lemon juice and orange juice into a large tumbler over one ice cube. Stir well. Serve with sugar and cold water on the side, a drinking straw, and a spoon.

Orange Surfboard
Combine liquors in a tall glass with ice cubes. Fill with orange juice and add a splash of cranberry juice. Shake to mix and serve.

Orange Surprise
Shake the peachtree schnapps, vodka and sour mix in a shaker. Pour into a highball glass filled with ice cubes, and fill with orange fanta. Garnish with a slice of orange.

Orange Tiger
Pour above ingredients into a stainless steel shaker over ice,shake until completely cold then strain into a Rocks glass filled with ice.Garnish with orange wheel or wedge.

Orange Tree
Pour into an old fashioned glass filled with broken ice. Add an orange slice, and serve.

Orange Velvet
Shake cream, pineapple juice and orange juice with some ice. Strain into a large cocktail glass.

Orange Venom
Pour above ingredients into a Collins glass filled with ice.Garnish with orange wheel or wedge.

Orange Warthog
Add kool aid powder (sweetened), southern comfort and coke to an ice filled hurricane glass. Stir well, and serve.

Orange Whip
Pour ingredients over ice cubes and stir.

Orangeade
Pour lemon juice, orange juice, and sugar syrup into a large tumbler or highball glass over ice cubes. Stir well, and top up with cold soda water. Serve with a drinking straw.

Orangesicle
Blend ingredients and serve in a powdered sugar rimmed glass. Garnish with an orange wheel.

Orangutan Cocktail
Pour the Malibu rum, banana liqueur, half and half, orange juice and grenadine into a cocktail shaker half filled with ice cubes. Shake well. Strain into a highball glass filled with ice cubes, and serve.

Orchard Downs
Pour dry gin into an old fashioned glass and fill with apple cider or apple juice. Add grenadine (optional) to taste.

Orchard Orange
Shake and strain into an ice filled highball glass. Garnish with fruit and serve with straws.

Orchard Punch
Combine the applejack, orange juice, grapefruit juice, grenadine and orange bitters in a large punch bowl, and stir well. Add lemon lime soda and ginger ale; stir again. Add one large block of ice. Garnish with orange and apple slices. Makes 24 (6 ounce) punch cups.

Orchid Cocktail
Pour the gin, violet liqueur and egg white into a cocktail shaker half filled with ice cubes. Shake well, strain into a cocktail glass, and serve.

Oregon Special
Pour the white rum over several ice cubes in a highball glass. Almost fill the glass with sweet and sour mix. Add the orange juice, and dash grenadine. Garnish with a maraschino cherry, and serve.

Organ Grinder
Blend and pour over crushed ice in an old fashioned glass. Sprinkle with coconut shavings and serve.
